Our Process

Through the collective experience of KWA’s principal landscape architects, we have developed a proven design process that is grounded in our unmatched dedication to customer satisfaction and tireless work ethic. In short, we do whatever it takes to get the job done on budget, on time, every time.

The first step in our process is to determine the scope of work by meeting with the client and often visiting the project site. Afterwards, we prepare a customized proposal of services for the client’s review. A proposal from KWA clearly identifies the tasks and documents we will provide, the information we need from the client and fees for services. Our fees are directly proportional to the complexity of the project and the time required to complete the work. We initiate the design process when the client has executed our proposal.

A fundamental aspect of our process is the enjoyment we take from working collaboratively with a design team. By our definition, the team includes the client, ourselves and any other design partners involved in the project. We invest equal effort into understanding the client’s vision and the intent and tasks of developers, architects and engineers who may be on the design team. We are open to the ideas of others, and we firmly believe in the power of a group of highly motivated, creative individuals brought together to seek a unique result.
