JOEL T. PARKER JR., ASLA, RLA, LEED AP President A 1997 graduate of Mississippi State University, Mr. Parker joined KWA in the fall of that same year. Since joining the firm he has progressed from intern landscape architect to Principal and then further to his current role as President. He has been responsible for the landscape architectural design of parks, hospitals, schools, churches, multi-family housing, single family housing, commercial centers and various public works projects. His typical tasks include interacting with clients and managing projects from the schematic level of design through construction documentation, while also overseeing the day-to-day operations of the firm. Mr. Parker's deep-rooted interest in plant material and his attention to detail lend him particularly effective to planting and residential design. Joel holds a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from Mississippi State University, is CLARB certified, is a LEED Accredited Professional and is licensed to practice Landscape Architecture in Arkansas, Mississippi and Tennessee.
MELVIN E. KERSEY, JR., ASLA, RLA Designer Emeritus As an award-winning landscape architect, Mr. Kersey has over forty years of design and land planning experience in public, private, and academic sectors. He has been responsible for land planning and site planning services for housing, urban environments, resorts, the 1982 World's Fair, parks and recreation facilities, campuses, and retirement communities throughout the United States. His work is characterized by his deep commitment to quality design, a build able product, and a satisfied client. Mr. Kersey has a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from the University of Georgia and is licensed to practice landscape architecture in Tennessee and Georgia.
